Orlando Florida Hotels and Villas

Orlando Accommodation Overview

Choosing the right accommodation for your Orlando Florida Theme Park holiday is very important, Disney Hotel, Universal Hotel, Orlando Hotel or private villa with pool, they are all good and each have their pro's and con's. However you are booking your holiday, with a tour operator, with British Airways or Virgin Atlantic or as individual components, then each option will be available to you.

The Disney and Universal hotels are closest to the theme parks, with all the advantages that brings. The Disney Transportation System is included with all hotel bookings and will provide all your transportation around the site and to the airport. Bookings with Universal hotels operate in much the same way. When reviewing the cost of theme park hotels consider if you will still need a car, and if not the saving that might bring.

Disney offer a variety of dinning plans that can cover both your theme park and hotel food, whilst they are good value they will tie you into Disney restaurants, and to a limited menu choice. Depending on plan choice you will get a combination of snack and table service meals, with a daily allocation of each. Your vouchers can be exchanged at a variety of restaurants through out the Disney parks. Some items, including alcohol are not included in the plans.

Some Orlando hotels offer transport to the theme parks as part of the room price, be careful to investigate exactly what is included, the frequency and location of pick ups and drop offs.

Disney Hotel

Generally hotel accommodation is limited to one room and after a busy day in the parks an evenings entertainment is not easy with little ones asleep next to you.

Villas are generally located further from the parks, normally within 30 minutes driving time, you will need a car and you will have to pay parking at the theme parks each day.

For self catering there are plenty supermarkets with food prices a little lower than at home, staying in a villa will allow you to save money on eating out and purchasing drinks and snacks in the theme parks. You will also have much more control over you menu.

A villa with separate living room and bedrooms gives much more scope for all family members to relax and enjoy an evening in their own way.

If you are travelling as two families holidaying together, then a villa can offer a significant saving over hotel rooms.
