Villas and Villas with Pools in Orlando, Florida

Choosing and Booking Orlando, Florida Villa

Orlando Florida Villas Orlando Villas are fantastic and offer a great way to enjoy all the Theme Parks, weather and relaxation that an Orlando holiday has to offer. Budget Villas, Luxury Villas & Villas with private pools are all available. As lovely as hotels are, at the end of a busy day in the parks the peace and quiet of your own house and pool is fantastic.

Holiday villas generally form part of residential developments with the majority of houses lived in by locals. Often the community will have shared recreational facilities that you will be able to use during your stay.

If you are booking your holiday as part of a package or in combination with a flight then you will be able to choose the grade of villa, but may have less choice on the location. For example if travelling with British Airways and booking a villa through them you will be allocated a villa on arrival by their management company. After arriving at the airport and collecting your car you will follow the supplied directions to the management company offices, where keys and directions to your allocated villa will be provided

Villa's let through management companies will all be of a defined standard with fixture, fittings, location and facilities to match those offered by your travel company. In our experience a villa booked this way offers a safe bet, you know what you are going to get, and if on arrival things are not as advertised you have instant recourse back to the management company. However, on the other side of the coin these villas are far less personal than those offered for let by their owners direct and will have very few of the extras you would expect from a good private villa.

Booking a villa direct with the owner carries more risk, although booking through a reputable letting agent where the villa has plenty of positive feedback should mitigate this. In our experience these villas are far more personal with lots of everyday items, books and hints and tips from previous holiday makers really making you feel at homeDisney Villa Pool Area from the moment you arrive. Villas booked this way should have pool toys, rain coats, basic kitchen supplies, DVD's, books and all sorts of other useful things for you to borrow during your stay.

Closest resort community to Walt Disney World is Windsor Hills (only 2 miles), Windsor Hills Resort Rental Villas offer the perfect base for a Disney holiday. Emerald Island is next closest (3 miles). Emerald Island Resort Rental Homes and Townhouses are located in a tranquil conservation area, perfect for relation after a hard day at the parks. More exclusive but still within close range of Disney is Reunion. Reunion Resort Rentals are the luxury option and perfect if you enjoy golf as the resort is home to 3 Championship golf courses.

Slightly further afield in the Davenport area of Orlando you’ll find the golf resort community of Highlands Reserve featuring large pool home rentals from 3-7 bed.  Highlands Reserve is around 15-20 minutes from WDW and is a good alternative to the busier more expensive rental communities in Kissimmee.  While the resort doesn’t offer many of the resort-style features of other Disney rental communities it does deliver large homes with private pools and easy access to Disney so perfect for relaxing in the evening after a day at the parks.  Across the road you’ll find the townhouse resort rental community of Regal Palms.  Regal Palms is a resort and spa and also contains a large lagoon style community pool with water slides, tiki bar and restaurant making it perfect for the family.

If self catering is not your thing don't let this put you off a villa. There are so many restaurant's and take-aways you could stay for a month and eat somewhere different for every meal.

Many villa's have their own private swimming pools, generally the cleaning and maintenance of these are included in the hire charge. Some pools will have water heating, this is normally charged at extra cost, and unless you are visiting in high summer pools can have a bit of a nip to them. There will be a few rules around the pool area, especially around pool safety, make sure you are aware of these with little ones around.

Villas are located all around the theme park area, with the majority based in communities that are local to Disney, normally accessed from the 192 highway. Remember when booking that you will have to drive each day from your villa to Disney or the other parks and back again, and that if you break your day and return for a night show you may be doing that journey more than once. Staying in any of the communities off the 192 gives a relatively short journey, under 30 minutes each way, although expect some traffic queues if travelling into Disney in the peak morning rush or away after the evening Magic Kingdom fireworks.

If you are staying at the western end of the 192 nearer its junction with the 27 then you can save yourselves any traffic queues around the Disney area by turning left off the 192 onto the 429 and from there onto Western Avenue and into Disney through the back door. The 429 is a toll road but the time you save will more than make up for the dollar or so you pay. In our experience villas around this end of the 192 offer the best convenience for both access to the theme parks and facilities local to the villa.

Prices vary, but as an indication, booking a Superior 3 bedroom villa with Pool through British Airways for 2 weeks in August 2012 will cost around £929, a 5 bedroom villa increases the price to around £1100. If you are travelling as two families then sharing a 5 bedroom villa can offer significant savings over hotel rooms.
