NASA - Florida

Where Disney and the other Orlando theme parks use the art of the imagination to transform the surroundings into something new, NASA doesn't have to, its 100% for real. Rockets regularly blast off from the many space pads, men flew to the moon, the Space Shuttle roared into space for mission after mission. NASA has history, heritage and modern day science adventure on display and happening all around it.

Located on Merritt island, on the Atlantic Space Coast, a day out to NASA has lots to offer. From Orlando take the Bee Line Expressway all the way to the beachside town of Cocoa. A left turn here takes you to the Cape Canaveral Air Station and NASA, a right to Cocoa's beaches and world famous surf shops.

NASA offers a number of ways to view the attractions, with different packages to suit the time you have. In addition on days when a rocket is being launched tickets are available to view take-off, be sure to check the website before you travel to check when launches are planned. Even if you do not wish to view a launch it is still well worth checking launch dates, on these days some of the tour attractions maybe closed.NASA Rocket Garden

Merritt Island is a nature reserve, with for the most part NASA as a silent partner. The miles and miles of swamp land and inland waterways provide a tranquil home to many animals including Crocodiles. When touring the facility from the safety of NASA transportation keep an eye on the roadside creeks, you may just see some sneaky eyes checking you out! The nature reserve is a beautiful place and a fantastic backdrop to the rest of the facility.
